Unable to Sound Out New Words
Many children who are learning to read do so by sounding out the words and breaking each one down into syllables. Unfortunately, kids with dyslexia don’t have the verbal capacity to do so. Since letters appear out of order for people with dyslexia, it can be hard to sound out the words appropriately.
